CATERING SERVICES AND SPECIAL EVENTS

Along with a passion for all things culinary, Steven Newsome brings over fifteen years of experience in the restaurant industry to his position as Food Service Director and Executive Chef. In his most recent role as Sous Chef for the Marriott hotel company, he thrived at bringing organization to kitchen operations while ensuring that
diners enjoyed delicious, beautifully prepared cuisine.
The fourth of five children, Steven grew up in Michigan and Chicago, and is a proud uncle to fourteen nieces and nephews. According to Steven, the first time he visited Mallard Cove he felt a strong sense of family. "When I met the Residents here, it felt like home," he says. "Mallard Cove Residents are open and willing to share their stories and their wisdom. I feel like I've been adopted by an entire building of grandparents, and that's a great feeling!"
Steven earned an Associates Degree in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute, and holds Management, Serve Safe, Nutrition and Purchasing certifications from the National Restaurant Association. |
